The intention of the Lash Artist Love Project is something that I, Tammy Mai, have been visualizing since I stepped foot into this inspiring community of skilled entrepreneurs. This turned out to be a passion project of mine to create reusable everyday items that highlight the "lash artist" title.
When I first began lashing, I had left a pretty solid corporate job and I remember feeling a slight cloak of shame every time someone asked me, "So what do you do?" and I would reply hesitantly with, "Oh, I just do lash extensions."
Growing up in a small immigrant family, financial stability meant not only survival but also honor. I had failed horribly at both as I moved to NYC for school by myself in late 2017, knew no one here, and was quite frankly lost in the what-I-wanted-to-do category. As lashing took off for me in July 2019, I gained more and more confidence in myself as an entrepreneur.
With fashion, dance, and pop culture being my first loves, lashing quickly became a whole new addition to what I consider a passion. Once I began to make genuine friendships through lashing, it was a wrap. I fell in love with each and every lash artist who has shown their unending support in the community. It was then, that I grew extremely proud to tell those that now ask me, "What do you do?"- that I am a business owner as a lash artist. <3
Lash Artist Love is my baby of a project where I can proudly and whole-heartedly share my adoration for lashing, lash artists, minimalist design, and environmental consciousness.
